In May of 2004 Michael Mazzeo Electric Corp. and Aurora Electric, Inc. formed a Joint Venture Partnership (doing business as AM Electric JV). This partnership represents a teaming of (2) highly respected Electrical Contractors in the New York Metropolitan area.

Aurora Electric, Inc. was formed by Veronica Rose in 1993 and has since grown into one of the most successful Women Owned Business Enterprises in the state. While Aurora offers services for all types of electrical installations, they specialize in the installation of Building Management, Data and Telecommunications Systems.

Michael Mazzeo Electric Corp. (MME) founded in 1977 by Michael Mazzeo, Jr. has built a reputation as a premier contractor for complex and large scale electrical systems in the Metropolitan New York and surrounding areas. For 28 years MME's core business has been the installation of electrical power and lighting systems for large commercial, institutional and industrial customers. In recent years MME has expanded with divisions focusing on Hospital/Health care facilities and interior renovations and tenant fit-out work.

The Joint Venture employs IBEW Local Union Number 3 electricians who go through a vigorous 6-1/2 year apprenticeship program combining both field and classroom work. Both MME and Aurora are members in good standing of the National Electrical Contractors Association (NECA).

The joint venture of MME and Aurora will focus collectively on our combined niche markets without limits.

In May of 2004 Michael Mazzeo Electric (MME) began a complex, fast-track job to install emergency power distribution systems at three of Pfizer's Midtown Manhattan buildings.

As a sub-contractor to Morgan Construction Enterprises, MME was responsible for installing (Three) 2000 KW Diesel Generators. Each generator had to be rigged in place, on the roof of each of the three high-rise buildings, which are 12,28 and 33 stories high.

Michael Mazzeo Electric furnished and installed 70 Automatic Transfer Switches and the associated control system required for transferring power from normal to back-up immediately in an emergency situation. Much of this is being run outside the building from riser areas reaching up 33 stories.

Tribute in Light

Once again the "tribute in light" commemoration, known world wide, honored the memory of those lost in the terrorist attacks that brought down the twin towers of the World Trade Center on September 11, 2001.

For each of the past five years Michael Mazzeo Electric Corp. (MME) has been a proud participant in this tribute to those that lost their lives that day and to the enduring spirit of the city of New York and the United States of America.

Under the direction of Michael Ahern, MME installed, wired and maintained the (88) 4,000 WATT fixtures, emanating the twin beams of light that rise up into the sky on every September 11th.
